Annabel moved to North Somerset with her family 15 years ago. A former company director and Chartered Engineer, she was a Councillor from 2011 to 2015.
On the Council she was a member of the children & young people and health scrutiny panels. She was also on committees for planning, IT, disabled children’s panels, and the Bristol Airport consultative committee. Locally she has been actively involved in campaigning to update broadband services in the villages and more recently helping to co-ordinating the local community resilience response during Covid.
In 2021 she coordinated a successful campaign to reverse the Council’s decision to restrict access to the Moor roads, starting an online group which attracted over 1700 members.
Annabel is a qualified Mountain Leader and enjoys spending time in the outdoors walking, hiking and climbing locally.
In recent years she has been in several local community groups. She has run groups for disabled children and their families in Yatton and Weston Super Mare and volunteered as an advisor on a national special education needs advice line. she is on the Conservative Disability Group Executive Committee and last year she was particularly proud to work with a team on Liam Fox’s Down Syndrome Act.
