Charles is married to Elizabeth, they have lived in the area for many years and have three daughters. Business in marketing and property management and letting. Hobbies are sailing and tennis, and used to be rugby. Elected Commodore of the Dunkirk Little Ships 1998 to 2001. Local RNLI committee for thirty years.
Joined Long Ashton Parish Council in 2003, elected chairman in 2007 and served in that capacity for three years. A challenge during that period was the threat of massive and inappropriate housing development to the south of Long Ashton and in Failand. Charles was proactive in ensuring that the community was aware of the threat, engaging with North Somerset and developers in order to influence and successfully fight the proposals. The threat has not gone away.
Charles was elected to represent Wraxall, Failand Leigh Woods an£ Long Ashton on North Somerset Council in 2010 and in 2014. He served on Planning committees Scrutiny panels and as Chairman of the Council in 2015/16.
Charles was instrumental in achieving the installation of the zebra crossing by Wraxall Primary school
Charles has vigorously promoted the interests of our community as a whole as well as taking up issues with the Council on behalf of individuals, and will continue to do so.
